We’re Going to Nice — Here’s Why That Matters for European Companies in the U.S.
This April, the CEWS team is heading to Nice, France for ITAD Europe 2026. This event is one of the most important gatherings in the IT asset disposition industry, bringing together professionals from across Europe and around the world on April 15–16. We will be at Booth 104, sharing with attendees how we can help with recycle needs.
We’ll be upfront: we’re a U.S.-based company and our focus stays here in the States. But a lot of European businesses have offices, employees, and operations on American soil, and when it comes to managing IT equipment responsibly, they still need a partner who can handle it properly. That’s the conversation we’re looking forward to having in Nice.
Why Is Our Company Attending a European Conference?
Because European companies are running operations all over the United States, and their ITAD challenges don’t stop at the border, we are here to be a U.S. partner.
When a European company refreshes its technology in a U.S. office, they still need certified data destruction. When they close a facility, someone has to manage the equipment removal. When they have ESG targets to hit, they need documentation to back it up. Finding a U.S. ITAD partner who actually understands those requirements and can execute on them consistently is harder than it should be.
The ITAD industry is global, but the work happens locally. For European companies, finding a U.S. partner who understands your standards is one of the more underappreciated challenges of running a multinational business.
What Does ITAD Look Like in the U.S.? A Quick Overview.
For anyone newer to the space, here’s a plain-language look at the core services that make up responsible IT asset disposition on the U.S. side.
Secure Data Destruction
Any device that stores data needs to be properly sanitized before it leaves your custody. Reputable ITAD providers offer certified destruction with documentation you can use for audits and compliance following recognized standards like NIST 800-88.
On-Site Shredding
For situations where devices can’t leave a facility before data is destroyed, on-site shredding brings the solution directly to your location. Hard drives, SSDs, mobile devices destroyed on-site, with witnessed destruction available for high-security environments.
Electronics Recycling
Equipment that can’t be reused needs to be recycled responsibly. For companies with environmental or ESG commitments, working with a certified recycler provides the documentation needed to support sustainability reporting.
On-Site Labor and Logistics
Decommissioning a U.S. office involves a lot of moving parts inventory, packing, transportation, coordination. On-site labor services handle the physical side of the project, so your teams don’t have to manage it from overseas.
Remarketing and the Wholesale Channel
Retired IT equipment often has more residual value than people expect. Through remarketing and wholesale channels, companies can recover value from decommissioned assets rather than treating disposal as a pure cost.
One More Thing: Technology Should Do More Than Just Retire
At CEWS, we believe responsible disposition means prioritizing reuse wherever possible through refurbishment, resale, or donation to organizations that couldn’t otherwise access technology. When equipment genuinely can’t be reused, responsible recycling ensures it’s handled in a way that’s documented, verifiable, and good for the environment. For companies with sustainability goals, this is an area where ITAD can actually move the needle.
Come Find Us in Nice
If you’re attending ITAD Europe this April, we’d love to connect. We’ll be there April 15–16 at Booth 104 and happy to talk about the industry, about what’s changing, or about what it actually looks like to manage IT assets responsibly across U.S. operations. No formal pitch. Just good conversation.
Everyone can help bridge the digital divide for those less fortunate. Simply provide unneeded (or end-of-life) laptops and power cords to our participating non-profits for reuse in local communities.
Help us reach our goal of giving back over 1,000 free laptops to those in need in 2022.
